Luis Orlando Pérez Gutiérrez

Luis Orlando is a Partner at BFT Legal and leads the Business, Finance and Energy practice areas. He has extensive experience advising clients on acquisition transactions and corporate and project financing and other matters related to business, and corporate finance. He advises international banks and financial institutions and international and domestic corporate borrowers on cross-border commercial loans, syndicated loans and project financing and all types of security packages and collateralization. He has advised various national and foreign clients mainly in external audits in financial matters, as well as audits carried out by the authorities, in carrying out financial activities such as the issuance of credit and prepaid cards, the management of cardholder accounts and its relationship with national and international clearing houses, its incorporation in Mexico as Financial Technology Institutions under the recent Mexican Fintech Law. He has advised various national and foreign clients on energy matters in Mexico, representing them for their entry into the Wholesale Electricity Market, as generators, suppliers, marketers and end users. He has collaborated in the most important associations for the development and promotion of the energy sector in the State of Nuevo León. Luis Orlando is a member of the Instituto Mexicano de Ejecutivos de Finanzas, A.C., Monterrey Chapter, and for the last seven years he has been president of the Business Financial Legal Committee. In the academic field. In the academic field, he taught Stock Market Law and Financial Institutions courses for the Finance Degree program in the Universidad Regiomontana. He is fluent in English and Spanish languages.
